Job summary
We are seeking a passionate and creative Content Writer / Content Creator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing and delivering engaging content across various digital platforms. You will be responsible for creating compelling narratives, captivating visuals, and innovative content strategies that resonate with our target audience of secondary school students and their parents.
Position Type: Full-Time, Remote (Work From Home)
Salary: NGN 75,000 – 150,000 (Negotiable) in the first year, rising to NGN 250,000 in the second year.
Minimum Qualification: Experience is essential; however, a Bachelor’s, HND, or ND degree is advantageous.
Experience Level: Entry Level
Experience Length: 2 – 3 years
Duration: 6 months with the possibility of extension or permanent placement

Key responsibilities
Content Creation & Strategy:
- Develop and execute engaging content strategies across various platforms (social media, blog, website, video etc.).
- Create high-quality, informative, and engaging content, including articles, blog posts, social media captions, and video scripts.
- Conduct thorough research and stay up-to-date on industry trends, educational best practices, and the evolving digital landscape.
- Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent and timely content delivery.
- Analyse content performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure all content adheres to our brand guidelines and maintains a consistent tone and style.
Video Editing:
- Produce high-quality videos for social media platforms.
- Edit both long-form and short-form videos into engaging content optimised for digital platforms, including adding music, sound effects, and visual effects.
- Apply creative editing techniques, including transitions, text overlays, motion graphics, and sound design.
- Repurpose content across different platforms to maximise reach and engagement.
- Optimise videos for mobile-first consumption and platform-specific requirements.
Graphic Design:
- Ensure consistency in design elements and messaging across all content.
- Design eye-catching visuals for social media posts, website banners, presentations, and other marketing materials that enhance our brand presence.
- Create infographics, illustrations, and other visual content to enhance the learning experience.
- Ensure all visual content aligns with the brand guidelines and maintains a consistent aesthetic.
- Stay up-to-date with design trends to keep content fresh and relevant.
Collaboration & Brand Consistency:
- Collaborate with the marketing, design, and education teams to align content with overall business objectives and educational initiatives.
- Maintain brand consistency across all platforms and ensure all content reflects the company’s mission and values.
- Actively participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas.
- Adapt and iterate on content based on performance insights and feedback.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Content Writer or Content Creator with a strong portfolio of work.
- Experience in creating engaging content for social media platforms.
- Experience in the education and training sector or with youth audiences is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Capcut, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
- Strong graphic design skills with experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva.
- Excellent written, verbal communication skills, and editing skills in English.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress).
- Understanding of SEO, social media trends, and content marketing strategies.
- Familiarity with AI-powered content writing, research, design, and video editing tools will be an advantage.
Soft Skills:
- Creative and innovative thinker with a passion for storytelling.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Adaptable and able to work independently as well as within a team.

- A strong understanding of social media best practices and audience engagement.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience with SEO and SEM.
- Knowledge of digital marketing principles and strategies.
- Experience with animation and motion graphics software.
- Interest in educational technology and its impact on learning.
- Knowledge of web design and development (including WordPress).
- Experience in the education and training industry.
- Understanding of marketing and audience engagement strategies.
