What is Anger Management?

Anger management is the ability to handle and control angry feelings in a healthy way. Everyone gets angry sometimes—it’s a normal emotion. But when anger takes over, it can damage friendships, family relationships, and your confidence. Learning to manage your anger isn’t about stopping yourself from getting angry; it’s about learning how to respond to that feeling in a calm and controlled way.

When you can control your emotions and express yourself clearly, you’ll find it much easier to keep your relationships strong and build new ones. This skill helps you navigate conflicts without them turning into a big argument, so you can feel more in control of your own reactions.

Take Control of Your Emotions, Control Your Destiny

As the famous psychologist Albert Ellis said, “The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own… You realise that you control your own destiny.”

Many people struggle with managing anger because they haven’t learned the emotional skills to respond to challenges. This course provides a range of established techniques to help you deal with difficult feelings and situations. You’ll learn how to calmly address your behaviour, so you can stop arguments before they start and build stronger, healthier relationships with everyone around you.

Give Your Child the Power of Calm

In today’s world, emotional control is a powerful skill. Helping your child master anger management is one of the most valuable lessons you can give them. It’s the key to maintaining friendships, handling peer pressure, and building a more confident, resilient sense of self. This training will help them avoid the frustration and isolation that can come from not knowing how to control their temper.

Why This Course Is Right for Your Child

Our comprehensive programme is designed to help young people systematically learn how to manage their emotions. We use techniques from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to help them understand the root cause of their anger and how to change their self-talk. This isn’t just about avoiding conflict; it’s about giving them a toolkit for life that will help them build strong, lasting relationships and feel more in control of their reactions.

COURSE CONTENT

This course is highly practical and engaging, delivered in eight distinct sessions. Your child will not only learn the following skills but also build the confidence to use them in their everyday life.

This section is all about getting to know anger as an emotion. Your child will discover why we get angry and learn about the ‘myths’ that surround it. We’ll help them understand how anger affects their emotions, so they can recognise it early and respond to it in a healthier way.

This part of the course focuses on the sequence of events that can lead to an outburst. Your child will learn to spot the early warning signs, or ‘anger cues’, that signal a problem is coming. We’ll show them how to take advantage of this sequence to de-escalate their anger before it gets out of control.

This module is all about practical techniques to stop yourself from getting angry. Your child will learn mental and physical methods to manage their emotions and keep a level head. We’ll also show them how to use their communication skills to get their point across without losing their temper.

This section teaches your child how to be assertive, which is the perfect balance between being too aggressive and too passive. They’ll learn how to present their views systematically and confidently. We’ll show them how assertive communication can help them keep their emotional balance and get results without offending anyone.

This part of the course introduces your child to the power of CBT. They will learn how to use this approach to manage the self-defeating and irrational thoughts that often cause anger. We’ll teach them how to create a more positive mindset that will help strengthen their relationships with others.

This module provides a simple formula for handling difficult situations. Your child will learn how to respond to potentially annoying moments quickly and effectively without getting emotional. This skill is vital for navigating disagreements and staying in control.

This section goes a step further by teaching a powerful five-step technique for handling direct confrontations. Your child will learn how to maintain their emotional balance and show that they are in control, so they can get the best possible results when faced with a challenge.

This final section is about repairing relationships. Your child will learn how to deliver an apology that genuinely helps, which can reduce the chances of future conflict. We’ll also teach them about the power of forgiveness and how it can help them feel better about themselves and defuse tense situations.
