Your Role as a Parent or Guardian
We encourage you to:
- Ensure your child attends each live lesson punctually and consistently.
- Inform us in advance if your child will miss a session, and help them catch up before the next class.
- Raise any concerns your child may have so we can provide timely support.
- Engage with your child’s learning progress and encourage them to stay focused and committed.
We are here to support your child — but we need your support too.
Safeguarding and Student Welfare
We are deeply committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment for all our students. Our comprehensive safeguarding measures are designed to give you peace of mind.
DBS Checks
All our trainers undergo thorough Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks. For trainers recruited from outside the UK, we obtain equivalent criminal record checks.
Controlled Communication
All formal communications regarding your child’s progress and any school-related matters will be directly with you, the parent or guardian. There will be no direct communication between our staff and students outside of the live lesson sessions.
Recorded Sessions
All live training sessions are recorded. These recordings are used for quality assurance, for students to revisit lessons, and for reference purposes.
Safeguarding Check-ins
After every training session, we send out a brief safeguarding questionnaire to students, asking if they had any concerns during the session. This provides an additional layer of oversight.
Identification in Live Classes
To ensure a secure online environment, every student is required to use their full name on our online platform. Failure to do so may result in them not being admitted to the class. Students will also be required to turn on their cameras at the beginning of the session so we can verify their identity. They may turn their cameras off afterwards if preferred.

We offer additional pathways to enhance your child’s learning and career prospects.
- Optional Programmes and Events: Bitesize Digital School CIC frequently organises special programmes and events designed to provide extra benefits to our students. These are entirely optional. We will inform you in advance about these opportunities, and it is your decision whether your child participates.
- Programme Costs: If any of these optional programmes or events require a fee, you will be notified well in advance.
- Professional Certifications: Upon completion of our training, every student receives a Certificate of Completion from Bitesize Digital School CIC. Furthermore, for programmes where industry-recognised professional certifications are available, we will prepare your child for these exams.
- Please note: While we provide the comprehensive training for these professional certifications, the exam fees for these external certifications are not included in our programme fees and will be your responsibility.

Scholarship opportunities: We offer both full and partial scholarships specifically for students from low-income families. These scholarships are designed to remove financial barriers and give every deserving child the chance to build a successful future.
What we cover: Our current funding covers all training fees, ensuring your child receives the complete educational experience without the financial burden on your family.
Equipment requirements: At present, we’re unable to provide computers or other necessary devices that students need for the programme. Students will need access to a suitable computer to participate fully in the training.
Future support: We’re actively seeking additional funding to provide laptops for students who cannot afford them, though this support isn’t yet available.

Our programme is structured into four distinct phases, with each phase lasting one academic year. While students can join and complete phases at their own pace, committing to the full journey offers the most comprehensive benefits, culminating in graduation and entry into our alumni network.
Bite-Sized & Balanced Learning: We deliver our curriculum in manageable, bite-sized portions specifically designed to complement, not compete with, your child’s secondary school studies. This approach ensures students aren’t overwhelmed, allowing them to maintain excellent academic performance in their regular schoolwork.
Term-Time Only: Our teaching takes place exclusively during school term times. This means students can fully enjoy their school holidays, ensuring they have proper rest periods and maintain a healthy work-life balance essential for their well-being.
Comprehensive Skill Development: Our core training is designed to build expertise progressively across the four phases. This ensures students develop job-ready IT and professional skills and are highly competent by the time they are 18, without compromising their traditional education.
Early Start Advantage (From Year 7): Students can begin their digital journey as early as Year 7.
